Confirmation
“Now when the apostles in Jerusalem heard that Samaria had accepted the word of God, they sent them Peter and John, who went down and prayed for them, that they might receive the holy Spirit, for it had not yet fallen upon any of them; they had only been baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus. Then they laid hands on them and they received the Holy Spirit.”-Acts 8:14-17
The Sacrament of Confirmation brings an increase and deepening of the grace we receive at Baptism. Confirmation unites us more firmly to Christ, increases the gifts of the Holy Spirit within us, makes our bond with the Church more perfect, and gives us special strength to spread and defend the faith.
When do children receive Confirmation?
The Sacrament of Confirmation is usually celebrated when one approaches or enters his or her young teenage years. In our PSR program, young people are prepared to receive the sacrament during the eighth grade. Please contact the office for more information. You can register your child for PSR here.
If you are an adult and were baptized Catholic but have not received the Sacrament of Confirmation, please contact our parish office for more information.
